Camping with the Anderson Family

Jame's family tries to get together out on the Rim once a year.  Since the forest is usually closed due to lack of run, we have to wait until the monsoon rains come rumbling into the Arizona skies.  Camping in the rain has its positive and negatives.  I love seeing the amazing lightning light up the sky.  I love how the thunder shakes the ground.  The rain also cools the weather down.  The negative- it is wet and creates lots of MUD! I would say the positives out way the negatives:-)  It is wonderful to get out of the city and enjoy nature every once in a while.....except for the killer bees, the trip was just a nice break.  The kids just loved playing with their cousins. Summer Fun!

Grandpa hit something coming into camp.  James fixed it!

I believe that is called a photo bomber!..Hailey

Jordan has the most amazing blue eyes!

Check out those lady bugs...it is enough to give you the chills!

The younger kids got to play "Don't Eat Pete" while the older ones went to find the clues for the treasure hunt. Such a cute game Jenna.

Kristofer was such a good brother helping his sisters get warm after the down pour during the treasure hunt.  All the kids were drenched and cold and frustrated that they had to stop looking for clues to wait for the rain to stop.

The treasure was finally found!  Kara, you are the best.  The kids just loved the hunt!

Throughout the time out camping, one could find grandma constantly throwing new wood on the fire.

A job well done Grandma!

Kara was the entertainer!

TROUBLE!
So the cousins from Mexico showed their talents off at camp. They all have really talented tongues!

We are very proud of them. I think only a couple of boogers were eaten during this episode!

Look at those eyes!

I believe Clara needed a face wipe a couple of times out there.

Bobby was quite the s'more maker....golden brown roasted to perfection.

We had a lot of fun.  Grandpa and Grandma will be leaving on their mission to Peru soon. I don't know when we will be doing this again for a couple of years. We look pretty clean in this picture.  Luckily we are far enough away that you can't smell us! Time to get home and do laundry and take a SHOWER!!!!!
